Overview

Sideline Hero is a basketball substitution and stats tracking app for coaches. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and how it is used.

The short version: everything you enter about your teams, players and games stays on your device. The free version of the app shows ads served by Google AdMob, and the optional Premium purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play together with RevenueCat. Those services receive the technical information described below. They never receive your team, player or game data. There are no user accounts.

Information You Enter

Sideline Hero stores the information you enter only on your device. This includes:

• Team information: team name and colour preferences
• Coach name: optional, used only to personalise the app's greeting
• Team logo: an image you choose from your photo library, copied into the app's own storage. The app has no other access to your photos.
• Player information: player names and jersey numbers, skill level (optional), and active/inactive status, including the names of one-off fill-in players added to a single game
• Game records: opponent name, date, location, game configuration settings, substitution history, and in-game events
• Game statistics: points scored, fouls, playing time, and season totals calculated from completed games

This information is used solely to operate the app's features: planning substitution rotations, tracking playing time, building season totals, and remembering recent opponents and locations for autocomplete. It is never sent to us, to Google, to RevenueCat, or to anyone else by the app.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Sideline Hero shows banner ads on its home, teams, history and help screens. Ads are never shown while you set up or run a game, and are not shown at all to Premium users.

To request and display an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK sends Google information such as: your device's IP address (from which an approximate location can be inferred), device model and operating system version, app version, language, and information about ads shown and tapped. On Android this can include the device's advertising ID unless you have deleted it in your device settings. On iOS, Sideline Hero does not ask for permission to track you, so the advertising identifier is not available to the app.

Sideline Hero requests non-personalised ads only: ads chosen from the context of the app, not from a profile of your interests. Google may still use this information to limit how often you see an ad, to measure ad performance, and to detect fraud and abuse.

If a future version offers personalised ads, it will ask for your permission first, and this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Purchases (App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat)

Premium is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never receive your card or payment details.

To confirm whether Premium is active and to let you restore a purchase, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID it generates for your installation, the details of your purchase (product, price, currency, transaction and renewal dates, and store receipt), your device type and operating system version, the app version, and your IP address. It does not receive your name, email address, or any team, player or game data.

Data Storage

Your team, player and game data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS and Android app storage. There is no cloud backup, sync, or remote storage of that data in this version of the app. Deleting the app permanently deletes it. It is not transferred to a new device unless you use a device backup service (such as iCloud or Google backup) that includes app data.

Google and RevenueCat keep the information they receive according to their own policies. To ask us to request deletion of the purchase record RevenueCat holds for your installation, contact us using the details below.

Data Sharing

• The app does not send your team, player or game data to anyone.
• Google (for ads) and RevenueCat (for purchases) receive only the technical information described above.
• We do not sell personal information.

The app includes a share/export feature, which you operate yourself: if you use it, the game data you export goes wherever you choose to send it, using your device's own sharing options.

Overseas Disclosure

Google and RevenueCat may process the information they receive in the United States and other countries outside Australia.

Children's Privacy

Sideline Hero is designed for use by coaches and is not directed at children. Player profiles within the app may contain names and jersey numbers of young athletes; this information is stored only on the coach's device, is never transmitted by the app, and leaves the device only if the coach chooses to share it. Ads are requested as not child-directed because the app's user is the adult coach.

If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about information entered into the app, please contact the coach who manages the team, as they control the device and data. You may also contact us directly using the details below.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

Sideline Hero does not include analytics or crash reporting tools. We do not receive information about how you use the app. Google and RevenueCat collect the service information described above to operate ads and purchases.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated policy will be published at this address before the app version it describes is released. The "Last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
